The sad Nagaland tragedy will be thoroughly investigated: Army Chief
The Army expressed great sadness today for the "unfortunate loss of lives" in a security operation that went awry near the Assam border in Oting village in Nagaland's Mon district, adding that the matter would be investigated at the "highest level." According to reports, 13 civilians were killed in the event. According to the Army, a jawan was also slain during the operation.
The Army planned an ambush on the Tiru-Oting route in response to a tip about insurgent movement, but it went horribly wrong.
